To coincide with the United Nations World Conference on the Oceans, to be held in Nice in 2025, the Sens Solidaires association wanted to use the city’s public spaces to raise public awareness of the need to preserve oceans.
The project will involve the young people of Nice. Initially, classes ranging from primary to vocational high schools will be taught about marine biodiversity, the challenges it faces, the threats it poses and the steps that need to be taken to bring about change. The pupils will then take part in the design and production of book boxes on these 3 themes. Then comes the general public phase. More on this later.
For the second year running, Sens Solidaires will be able to count on the support of the Jacques Martel Foundation, which responded enthusiastically to the association’s invitation. On the one hand, the project is in line with 2 of the Foundation’s missions – the protection of marine resources and the education of young people – and on the other, it uses a tool that we favour: raising awareness.
