Last October, to mark World Food Day, the Jacques Martel Foundation launched a call for projects focusing on educating children about taste, as part of its mission to “promote healthy and sustainable food for all”.
Of the ten or so projects received, 3 winners were selected.
Today we are pleased to present the association the association CPIE Lozère, which submitted a project for children in CE1 and CE2, entitled “De la Terre au Ventre” (‘From the Earth to the Belly’).
As part of this educational project, 8 activity sessions (2 per season) are planned for 2 schools in Lozère to raise children’s awareness of food issues.
More specifically, the aim is to understand the links between the quality of our food and production methods, as well as the impact of our food on our health, and to encourage children’s curiosity about new foods. And for the whole course, the emphasis is on ‘doing’!
🍓🫛Spring is just around the corner, and we’re looking forward to some great events based around this season’s fruit and vegetables, with a visit to the market gardener scheduled for May.
We’re delighted to be able to help bring this forward-looking project to fruition, and we’ll be delighted to take part in the final event in June, before a new round of classes starts next autumn for 2 new classes.
