Visiting the Maison Adrien

25 April 2025 | Actuality, Our actions, Our projects

This was our first visit to the Maison Adrien since the Jacques Martel Foudnation charity dinner last June.

Some improvements have been made, such as the landscaping of a new part of the garden and the display of a new Superhero statue at the entrance, but what really stood out for us was the activity that took place in the holiday home.

As a reminder, the Maison Adrien project was launched by René Molinès, president of the Adrien association. The aim is to provide family holiday home for children undergoing treatment for severe pathologies, with heavy protocols.

Behind this objective is the desire to offer a little comfort, moments of exchange with other families who are going through the same ordeals, and to cheer up the heart.

Attending the ‘table d’hôte’ lunch was an excellent illustration of the philosophy behind the establishment, and a particularly emotional moment.

A few figures to illustrate the development of the Maison Adrien

The first family was welcomed in April 2024. Since then, activity has gradually grown, and there are now three to four families staying at Maison Adrien every week.

Average stays are six to eight weeks.

New agreements have been signed with hospitals of St Etienne, Toulouse, Lyon and Montpellier, in addition to the agreement with the hospital of Nice, which launched the movement.

It should be noted that this is a social non-medical establishment. And it’s important for René Molinès, who places social welfare and solidarity at the heart of his commitment.

During the meeting, we talked about support, and René Molinès asked the Jacques Martel Foundation to help finance family stays. Maison Adrien has an agreement for the child and one parent. To maintain the possibility of 3 or 4 people coming together, it is important to have the help of a partner. It’s a way of maintaining a social dimension that families appreciate.

This will be the Jacques Martel Foundation’s next commitment to Maison Adrien, and we’re delighted.
