The Jacques Martel Foundation is delighted to support a magnificent adventure, initiated by the Opéra de Nice: the participatory opera ‘Un Monde Ensemble’.
A participatory opera is a human and artistic adventure, which also has the particularity of putting children at the heart of the project!
On stage as in real life, children have a fundamental role to play; they are key to the success of the project, just as they are key to building the society of tomorrow.
So it’s up to us – parents, schools, institutions – to support them and give them the right tools.
That’s the challenge facing the Opéra de Nice, which also wants to shatter boundaries that have no place and are still too self-imposed. How many times have we heard, ‘Opera’s not for me…’?
We were there when the project was announced, in March 2025.
We were also at the Opera de Nice for the launch of the new season on 15 May 2025, barely 2 months later.
The children, gifted with incredible vitality, stunned us by offering the audience present that day a foretaste of the work and emotion they are capable of producing.
Well done to them, to Magali Thomas (director) and Sergio Monterisi (composer) and to the teachers who work with them.
