The “sea and coastal areas event” came to an end last weekend, after 1 month of festivities and awareness-raising activities.
“Protecting marine resources” is an important part of the work of the Jacques Martel Foundation, and is anchored in the DNA of its governance.
We try to carry out these activities throughout the year!
Next step: co-hosting an educational stand with the 4myplanet association at the Fête de la Science, with the theme of an “Ocean of Knowledge”, at the invitation of the IMEV (Institut de la Mer de Villefranche) and the LOV (Laboratoire Océanographique de Villefranche), in Villefranche sur mer.
We felt that this invitation was perfectly in keeping with the leitmotiv of the Jacques Martel Foundation: Protect & hand down the future!
3 themes will be addressed:
🌎 the role of the ocean in the planet’s respiration
🌊 the importance of oceanographic data and how to collect it
🔬 the development of scientific knowledge
Please note that during the week, visits will be reserved for schoolchildren and on the weekend they will be open to the general public, which we hope will be numerous.
