Happy new school year to all children!

28 August 2025 | Actuality, Our actions

Education is at the heart of the Jacques Martel Foundation’s commitment.

Whether directly, as part of the mission to ‘Encourage the education of young children’, or in synergy with other missions, we are committed to supporting projects that aim to accompany, enlighten and awaken children.

What initiatives have been carried out this year?

Throughout the year, children have been at the centre of several projects:

  • Raising awareness of the risks associated with overexposure to screens, with the association Lève les yeux,
  • Discovering Mediterranean biodiversity through an immersive and interactive educational program with Sens Solidaires,
  • Exploring the marine environment and raising awareness of the dangers of ocean pollution with 4myplanet,
  • Raising awareness of taste and healthy, sustainable eating with the CPIE de Lozère,
  • Encountering dolphins and whales in a marine protected area off the coast of Sanary-sur-Mer, in partnership with the LEA association
  • Engaging in collective solidarity action to address essential values such as acceptance of others, difference and disability, with the St Cézaire sur Siagne primary school

What was the impact of these actions?

With Lève Les Yeux, 250 young people took part in awareness-raising workshops.

With Sens Solidaires, more than 60 classes discovered the riches of the Mediterranean by exploring the Port of Nice.

With 4myplanet, …. Classes visited the stand during UNOC to immerse themselves in the marine world and reflect on the challenges of pollution.

With the CPIE de Lozère, more than 60 students took part in the ‘De la Terre au ventre’ program.

With the LEA association, around 50 children with illnesses and/or disabilities were able to enjoy a day of respite and wonder.

Associations play an essential role in supporting children and promoting education. Their projects cover topics that are barely addressed in schools due to a lack of resources and time. As a patron, we are committed to promoting their work and helping them to realize their projects.

It is therefore with great gratitude that we wish all the associations that will continue to work with and for children throughout the year a successful start to the new school year.
