Who are the winners of the call for projects on taste education? 2/3

3 April 2025 | Actuality, Our actions

Last October, to mark World Food Day, the Jacques Martel Foundation launched a call for projects focusing on educating children about taste, as part of its mission to “promote healthy and sustainable food for all”.

Of the ten or so projects received, 3 winners were selected.

Today we are pleased to present the association CPIE des Iles de Lérins et Pays d’Azur, which has proposed to tackle the theme of taste education and of healthy & sustainable eating by creating educational resourcesfor children in the area. These will be offered in schools and extra-curricular activities in the form of educational kits with the very telling title of ‘Flavours & Seasons’.

The aims are many: to promote healthy & attractive eating for all, to develop knowledge and choose healthy foods, to work on the balance of meals, to encourage people to discover new foods, to raise awareness of the link between eating habits and their impact on the environment, and to reconnect the people with local and sustainable agriculture!

And it’s inspiring the creators at the CPIE, who have set to work and have already come up with some original tools, such as a tree of the seasons, a decoded menu, a balanced plate and a whole range of targeted games produced in compliance with environmental and social standards that reflect the values of the Foundation.

Emphasis is also placed on making teachers more responsible and independent, and on helping children to develop a critical attitude to their food.

And we’re not forgetting the idea of sharing and having fun!

We’re delighted to be able to help make these kits a reality, which will be offered via the CPIE Azur network to schools in the region as soon as possible so that they can be used from the start of the new school year.
