Who are the winners of the call for projects on taste education? 3/3

1 July 2025 | Our actions, Our projects

Last October, to mark World Food Day, the Jacques Martel Foundation launched a call for projects focusing on educating children about taste, as part of its mission to ‘promote healthy and sustainable food for all’.

Of the ten or so projects received, 3 winners were selected.

Today, we’re delighted to present the 3rd and final winner: the association Semailles, which won us over with its sensory workshop project for toddlers.

The workshop is called ‘Little hands in fruit and vegetables’ and offers nursery school children a real adventure in the senses: touching, smelling, observing, listening… and of course tasting!

Through playful activities, toddlers discover bright colours, fun shapes, surprising textures, rich fragrances and varied flavours of seasonal fruit and vegetables.

The first workshops took place on 2 June in a class of nursery pupils at the Grands Cyprès school in Avignon. Other workshops are planned during Taste Week in October in other schools in the Greater Avignon area.

The Semailles association, which has been based in Avignon since 1997, is a social integration site and a member of the Cocagne network. On 16 hectares of organic market garden, it produces its own fruit and vegetables and supports people on their way to sustainable employment, while at the same time raising awareness of organic farming and sustainable food.

The Jacques Martel Foundation is delighted to be accompanying him on this joyful exploration, the aim of which is to develop the curiosity and eating pleasure of young children.
